This week, we were asked to recreate designs on Figma.
✍My Takeaways
- Learned to use Figma extensively
- Analyse the content and the layout of the design. I noticed how elements differed in sizes and weights within a composition that was content heavy.
- Made use of Rulers and Grids (I mostly used the column grid)
- I used a new plugin - Lörem Ipsum, to autofill a text box. Made my life a lot easier XD

- when to use what type of grid?
- do we build the grid and layout first? or decide the priority of the content first?
- how do we prioritize?
- naming practices of frames. What is the right way to name your layers?
✍Curious to know
- I saw some designs that did not strictly follow any grid system. How does that work? Does that make it a bad design?
- I saw some designs use shades of grey for text which makes it very in-accessible (sometimes in real apps too). Does that make it a bad design?
- Any Figma plug-in or tool to find out which font is used in an image?
